Canton, NY – The Roos used good defense and a balanced attack led by strong performances from
Kat McRobbie-Taru and
Natalie Bush to rout the visiting Bobcats from Bryant & Stratton Albany 79-44 on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Canton jumped out to an early lead establishing its dominance immediately with a 10-0 run led by seven quick points from Hope Aniceto over the first four minutes. Â
- The Roos made it a 23 point lead going into the half after Abigail Rice drained a nice shot with seven seconds left in the half. The home team took a commanding 48-25 lead at the break.
- Canton's Emma Perez extended the lead to as many as 32 points in the third quarter after a fastbreak layup with 1:38 in the quarter.
- A jumper in the paint by Chloe Smith capped off the scoring for the Roos in the fourth quarter to make it 79-44 with 22 seconds in the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- McRobbie-Taru led the Roos attack with 13 points, nine rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes played. Canton also received notable performances from Bush who dropped 10 points with six rebounds, one assist and one block, while Sierra Pabo had nine points, five assists and four rebounds. Thirteen different players scored for the Roos.
- Bryant & Stratton Albany was led by Mei-Lin Callistes 17 points and 20 rebounds, while Dasia Edmond had a solid effort with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
- Canton led in points off turnovers (15-11), second chance points (10-6), bench points (40-1), points in the paint (38-18), fast break points (19-3), rebounds (69-51), three-point shooting with 34.6%, and field goal percentage with 37.2%. Both squads had seven steals each on the afternoon.
