Niko Schoner scored two goals and added an assist and junior
Scott Cremen scored one goal and assisted on another but the SUNY Canton men's hockey team dropped a 4-3 decision to Stevenson University on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Schoner opened the scoring at 8:10 of the first period, gathering a rebound off Roos sophomore goaltender Trey Miller, skating the length of the ice and sniping a shot top shelf over Mustang goalie Ford DeLoss.
- Stevenson tied the game 1-1 just 1:43 into the second on a goal by Caden Smith.
- Schoner scored his second of the game less than five minutes later, taking a give-and-go pass from freshman Hayden Bullock and tucking into net to put the Roos on top 2-1.
- Less than a minute later Liam McCanney tied the game 2-2 and an Aiden McDowell goal put the Mustangs ahead 3-2 at 17:38 of the second.
- Jack Karlsson's goal at 5:24 of the third gave Stevenson a 4-2 lead before Cremen scored a power play goal at 7:21 of the period. Cremen's goal was assisted by Schoner and sophomore Jackson Drysdale.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Schoner added an assist to go with his two goals. Cremen's two-point night was the fourth of his career.
- Canton was 1-for-2 on the power play and a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
- Stevenson had an edge at the faceoff circle, winning 38 draws to the Roos 26.
- Miller recorded 35 saves in the game, while DeLoss finished with 32 stops for the Mustangs.
