Morrisville, NY – Emerson Coulter continued an outstanding freshman campaign with a team high nine kills, but the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team dropped their SUNYAC match (13-25, 18-25, 15-25) against SUNY Morrisville on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morrisville jumped out to a 10-5 lead on a Kylie Hutchison ace. The Roos rattled off four straight points, capped by a Sarah Balcom ace to close the gap to 14-12. But it was all Mustangs from there closing out the set with nine consecutive points to win the set 25-13.
- Both teams traded points early when a kill by sophomore Bria Hunter tied the set 4-4. The Mustangs extended their lead, scoring 14 of the next 20 points, to hold a 18-10 advantage. Canton scored four-straight, capped on a Coulter kill, to draw within four at 18-14. But Morrisville again was able to finish the set with a 25-18 win.
- In the third, an Alexas Marshall kill knotted the set at 2-2, but the Mustangs would take a commanding 14-4 lead and not relinquish their advantage, closing out the set 25-15.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Coulter led the Roos with nine kills followed by Balcom's four. Kayci Olsen led the Mustangs with 14.
- Senior Sarah Towles paced Canton with eight digs, Kayla Sheasby led Morrisville with 18.
- Junior Sammie Frank registered 16 assists to lead the Roos.
