Sarah Towles recorded 10 digs, but the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team dropped their SUNYAC match against SUNY New Paltz on Friday evening 3-0 (10-25, 21-25, 17-25).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks jumped out to a 19-5 lead before the Roos made a late push scoring three straight capped by a Sammie Frank kill. But the New Paltz lead was too large to overcome and they closed out the set 25-10.
- New Paltz again took an early lead in the second set, holding an 8-1 advantage. The Roos battled back, closing the gap to 10-7. Another Hawk run put them up 19-10 before freshman Daycee Bane's ace drew Canton within six (19-13). A kill by senior Alexas Marshall cut the lead to 24-21 but New Paltz would prevail 25-21.
- The third set was tight with a Marshall kill keeping the Roos within two (9-7). A Bane ace put the set at 19-17 but the Hawks would score six straight to win the set 25-17.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Hunter's nine kills led the Roos, Marshall and freshman Emerson Coulter each had four.
- Towles' 10 digs were a team high, Hunter and Coulter recorded seven each.
- Frank dished out a team-leading 15 assists.
