Canton, NY – The 2024-25 SUNY Canton women's hockey team features 23 student-athletes as the Roos are scheduled for a 25 game schedule in their second season in the SUNYAC under third year Head Coach
Kalie Hart.
SUNY Canton plays two exhibitions this weekend, one in Malone against SUNY Potsdam on Friday, and another at their home rink in the Roos House, against Durham West Lightning U18AA on Saturday. The Roos open the regular season at No. 2 nationally-ranked Adrian College on November 1st and 2nd.
The Roos have been picked to finish fourth in the SUNYAC in a vote of the league's seven head coaches. Defending champion Cortland as well as Plattsburgh were picked atop the poll, both with 33 points. Oswego was chosen to finish third with 26 points and Canton was fourth with 19 points. Morrisville (18), Potsdam (11) and Buffalo State (7) rounded out the poll.
The team will play its first SUNYAC games of the season on November 8th and 9th at Oswego State and Buffalo State, respectively. Canton will host SUNY Cortland (11/15) and SUNY Morrisville (11/16) as part of Hockey Reunion Weekend. To view the team's schedule release, click

SUNY Canton's 2024-25 roster couples 16 returners with seven newcomers. Juniors
Danika Lalonde and
Sydney Valiquette will captain the team this season, while senior
Desiree Snook and juniors
Jane Pancoe and
Kyra O'Keefe will serve as assistant captains.
The Roos return eight of their top nine scorers from a season ago including four double digit point scorers. Lalonde led the team with 20 points in the form of 14 goals and six assists, while Snook tallied 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points.
Riley Andzel posted six goals and eight assists for 14 points during her rookie season and O'Keefe registered 12 points on five goals and seven assists.
Canton welcomes back
Molly Lenihan after she had an impressive rookie season between the pipes that saw her post eight wins with a 1.84 goals against average and .934 save %. The team brings in two new goaltenders to the roster including sophomore transfer
Abby Seaman who posted a 1.43 goals against average and .941 save % with a 2-0-0 record in eight games at UMass Boston last season. The final goalie on the roster is freshman
Alyssa Townsley who joins the Roos from Arizona.
