Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's hockey team and Head Coach
Kalie Hart have announced the program's 2024-25 schedule. The Roos will play a 25 game regular season schedule that features 13 home games in their second season in the SUNYAC.
Following a pair of exhibitions, the Roos open the regular season on the road at Adrian College on November 1st and 2nd. Canton opens SUNYAC play with a road weekend at Oswego State (11/8) and Buffalo State (11/9). The team welcomes SUNY Cortland and SUNY Morrisville to the Roos House on Hockey Reunion Weekend on November 15th and 16th.
SUNY Canton takes a brief break from league play with a non-conference road game at Utica the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The team is right back to the ice after the holiday hosting Buffalo State (11/29-30). The Roos close out the 2024 portion of their schedule on December 7th hosting Hamilton College.
The team kicks off the 2025 calendar with a SUNYAC game at home against SUNY Potsdam (1/10) followed by a non-conference home tilt with Utica (1/11). Canton's next three league games all come on the road with a trip to SUNY Cortland (1/17-18) and a home-and-home series against the Bears traveling to Potsdam on Friday (1/24) before the Bears visit the Roos House on Saturday (1/25).
Overall, the team plays five straight home games with a non-conference series against Chatham (1/31-2/1) and a SUNYAC series against Oswego State (2/7-8). The Roos final four games of the regular season will be on the road with weekend trips to national power Plattsburgh State (2/14-15) and SUNY Morrisville (2/21-22).
The top four teams in the conference qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds hosting semifinal contests on March 1st. The highest remaining seed will host the SUNYAC Championship on March 8th. The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament earns the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
