Men’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 Schedule

Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's basketball team and Head Coach Dylan Seikel have released the team's 2024-25 schedule. The Roos have a 25 game regular season schedule that includes 11 home games and a Division I exhibition in their first season in the SUNYAC.
 
The team's slate includes 18 SUNYAC contests with two games each against the other nine conference opponents.
 
After a scrimmage in late October, the Roos will travel to NCAA Division I Colgate University for an exhibition on November 5th. The team gets the regular season underway on November 8th and 9th at the Bill Sudeck Tournament hosted by Case Western Reserve. The Roos square off with SUNY Brockport in their season opener on November 8th.
 
SUNY Canton hosts Clarkson in their home opener on November 12th before welcoming Houghton to campus 10 days later. After a trip the Saturday after Thanksgiving to Hilbert, the Roos host Oswego State in their first ever SUNYAC game on December 7th.
   
The 2024 portion of the Roos schedule comes to an end at the St. John Fisher Classic on December 29th and 30th when they square off with RPI and Penn State Behrend, respectively. The entire 2025 portion of the schedule will feature league games as SUNY Canton will play 17 straight SUNYAC games.
 
The team opens 2025 hosting SUNY Oneonta. Other home games during the second half of the season include SUNY New Paltz (1/14), Fredonia State (1/24), Buffalo State (1/25), SUNY Potsdam (2/14), Plattsburgh State (2/15), SUNY Morrisville (2/21) and SUNY Cortland (2/22)
 
Following the regular season, the Roos will look to qualify for their first SUNYAC Tournament. The top two seeds earn first round byes with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting first round games on February 25th. The No. 1 overall seed hosts championship weekend with two semifinal games on February 28th and the championship game on March 1st. The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament will earn the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
