Trey Miller made a career-high 48 saves and junior
Brendan Morrow scored a goal and added two assists to lead the SUNY Canton men's hockey team to a 4-2 victory over Wilkes University on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Jack Seamans broke a scoreless game at 1:17 of the second period, burying a rebound from a sharp angle to give the Roos the 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by sophomore Jordyn Mughal.
- Steven Spetz tied the game up less than a minute later for Wilkes, wristing a shot just over the shoulder of freshman Trey Miller.
- Canton regained the lead at 7:36 of the second on a goal by junior Brendan Morrow. Morrow tipped a sophomore Scott Cremen shot from the point to put the Roos ahead 2-1. The goal was scored on the power-play and sophomore Evan Pringle earned the secondary assist.
- Joe Johnson tied the game back up for the Colonels at 16:35 of the second, taking a shot from the top of the circle that deflected off a Roo defender and into the net.
- The game remained tied late into the third when Coach Boak called a timeout for Canton with less than a minute to play. The Roos responded just eight seconds later, when a Cremen one-timer slipped under Jack Perna's arm to make the score 3-2.
- Senior Nic Herringer scored an empty-net goal with just seven seconds remaining to seal the victory.Â
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Morrow's three points give him 18 on the season to lead the team. Herringer recorded his fifth multi-point game of the season and ninth of his career.
- The Roos were 1/3 on the power play and a perfect 2/2 on the penalty kill.
- Canton had an edge at the faceoff dot, winning 45 of the 75 draws. Morrow led all players with 22 wins.
- Miller's 48 saves were a career-high for the freshman. Perna made 25 saves for the Colonels.
