Jevonte Williams (18) led the Roos in scoring as they handed Husson its first conference loss of the season in an 82-78 victory on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos led by five (16-11) nine minutes in after a Larson layup. The Eagles responded with a 16-4 run to open a seven point advantage (27-20) five minutes later.
- Husson extended its lead to 10 (34-24), their largest of the game, with 3:55 left in the opening half. Canton closed the stanza on a 12-4 run to get within 38-36 at intermission.
- Larson led the hosts with 12 first-half points, while Williams had nine. Jeremy Moronta (12) and Eric Ahlers (9) paced the visitors.
- Kevin Goode Jr. hit a three right out of intermission to give Canton the lead. The Roos used a 17-6 run out of half to take their largest lead of the game at nine (53-44) just under seven minutes into the half.
- The hosts still led by eight with 4:46 remaining after a Goode Jr. jumper. Husson trimmed the deficit to just one with 18 seconds left after a Moronta three ball.
- Williams split a pair of free throws with 14 seconds left for a two-point lead, but Bryon Streb came up with a huge offensive board with nine seconds left before getting fouled. He calmly stepped to the line and drained both free throws making it a two-possession game to seal the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Larson recorded team-highs of 23 points and nine rebounds while adding three assists. Goode Jr. finished with 21 points, four rebounds and three steals and Williams tallied 18 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals. Terrence Fields and Brennan Harmer chipped in nine and six points, respectively.
- Riles Neff paced Husson with a game-high 25 points, while Moronta (21) and Ahlers (11) reached double figures.
- Canton shot 47% from the field and 40% from three-point range compared to marks of 39% and 32%, respectively, for Husson. The Roos had edges in points in the paint (40-32) and fast break points (10-2), while the Eagles had the upper hand in bench points (21-11), points off turnovers (18-9) and second chance points (17-8).

The men's basketball team is back in NAC action next Friday when they host Eastern Nazarene College at 1 p.m.
