Canton, NY – Eli Larson recorded his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 16 rebounds to lead four Roos in double figures in a 77-68 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win against Maine Presque Isle on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team led by more than four in the opening 10 minutes of the game. Leading by one the Owls used a 12-2 run to open up an 11 point lead with 6:50 left in the opening half. The Roos trimmed the deficit to just 38-35 at intermission.
- Jevonte Williams led all players with 14 first-half points, while Kevin Goode Jr. added nine. Gilbert Jean Mendez paced the Owls with 13 points in the opening 20 minutes.
- Play was extremely close throughout most of the second half with the game tied at 64 apiece with 2:41 to play.
- Williams hit a jumper to put the Roos on top and Goode Jr. knocked down one of two free throws to give Canton a three point lead with less than two minutes to go. After an Owls basket, Moe Biao made a bucket inside to regain the three point advantage.
- UMPI once again got another bucket inside, but Larson scored on a tip-in and Brennan Harmer picked up a steal and knocked down two free throws to extend the lead to five with 26 seconds left to seal the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Williams led all players with 20 points, while Larson tallied 18 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. Goode Jr. supplied 16 points, six rebounds and three steals and Harmer finished with 11 points and game-highs of five assists and five steals.
- Dany Harris paced the Owls with 18 points and four steals and Doug McCalla recorded 16 points and 16 rebounds. Jean Mendez also reached double figures with 15 points.
- The Roos held the upper hand in rebounds (47-37) while UMPI had the edge in fast break points (10-2).
- Canton shot 20-for-28 from the line, while the Owls were 7-for-17.

The men's basketball team is back in NAC action on Saturday when they host Husson at 1 p.m.
