Keuka Park, NY – Junior
Sarah Balcom tallied 11 kills and 4 digs on the second day of the Keuka College Tournament, but the Roos dropped a pair of matches to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) and host Keuka.
The Roos fell 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 16-25, 12-25) in the opener to MCLA before dropping a 3-0 decision  (20-25, 11-25, 16-25) to the Wolves in second match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Match 1 –
BOX SCOREÂ
- After even play through much of the first set, MCLA went on a 7-2 run to lead 18-12. The Roos responded, scoring eight of the next 11 to close the gap to 21-20. MCLA would score the next four points to close the set 25-20.
- Canton jumped on MCLA early in the second set, scoring an early 12-4 advantage on a kill by sophomore Sammie Frank. The Roos went on to win the set 25-16.
- MCLA cruised to a comfortable 19-6 lead in the third set before closing it out 25-16.
- In the fourth and final set, Canton held strong early trailing just 12-11 off a Balcom ace. But MCLA sprinted away, scoring eight straight points and eventually took the set 25-12 to win the match.
 Match 2 –
BOX SCOREÂ
- In the second game of the day, the Roos held a 10-9 lead early before surrendering eight straight points en route to a 25-20 loss.
- In the second set, the Wolves ran out to a 13-0 lead before taking the set 25-11.
- In the final set, a kill by sophomore Brooke Hite kill kept the Roos close at 9-6 but ultimately Keuka would sweep the Roos with a 25-16 score, winning the match 3-0.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos host their home opener against Paul Smith's College next Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
