Kwong Leads Roos in Strong First Half Against Clarkson

Potsdam, NY – Led by senior goalkeeper Owen Kwong's four first-half saves, the SUNY Canton men's soccer team held host Clarkson scoreless in the opening stanza.  Two second half goals eventually put the Knights over the top, as they defeated the Roos 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Both teams played an even first half with Clarkson landing four shots on net and the Roos countering with two.
  • The Knights broke the scoreless tie at 52:25 of the second on a goal by Jonathan Dereka with the assist going to Jack Donnelly.
  • Clarkson converted another opportunity just eight minutes later when Dylan Jasey scored his first goal of the season.
  • The Roos had several opportunities late in the second half but were unable to convert their opportunities.

  • Clarkson outshot the Roos with 11 shots on net compared to the SUNY Canton's three.
  • Three Roos recorded shots on net, including sophomores Eric Randall and Chris Escobar and senior Brennan Harmer.
  • Kwong finished with nine saves, while Clarkson's Josh Morelli recorded three.
