Wunder Nets Career-High Five Goals, Anderson Earns First Win as Roos Finish NAC Play Unbeaten

Canton, NY – Lindsey Wunder scored a career-high five times, Samantha Dayter had a game-high 11 points and Erin Anderson earned her first collegiate win as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team closed out its regular season with an 18-8 win v. Maine Farmington on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Roos finish the season unbeaten at 5-0 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play and have earned the one seed and hosting rights of the NAC Tournament next weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • The Roos jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the opening quarter behind a pair of goals from Samantha Dayter and one from Lindsey Wunder.
  • Canton outscored the Beavers 7-1 in the second stanza to take a commanding 10-2 lead into intermission. Dayter and Wunder led the Roos with four first-half goals each with Dayter adding four assists.
  • SUNY Canton saw its reserves play a lot of action in the second half as they cruised to the 18-8 victory.  
 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 
  • Dayter led all players with 11 points on four goals and seven assists while adding seven draw controls. Wunder tallied a career-high five goals and Maddy Caron finished with four goals and a game-high 11 draw controls. Morgan Montgomery and Aayliah White supplied two goals and an assist each with White scoring her first goal of the season. Hannah Reed had the other Canton goal, also her first tally of the year.
  • Ruby McMinis led Farmington with two goals and two assists, while Abby Trefsger also scored twice.
  • Anderson made seven saves in her first collegiate win, while Kate Nowell stopped seven shots in the loss for the Beavers.
  • The Roos held the upper hand in shots on goal (25-15) and draw controls (19-10), while the Beavers controlled ground balls (29-21).
Erin Anderson recorded her first collegiate win in net on Sunday.
 

WHAT'S NEXT? 
This concludes the regular season for the Roos. After posting an unbeaten mark in NAC play the Roos have earned the one seed and hosting rights of the NAC championship which will be held Saturday (5/6) and Sunday (5/7) in Canton.
