Samantha Dayter tallied eight points as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team held on for a 15-14 road win at Husson University on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The Roos jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the opening quarter behind goals from Casey Pelton, Morgan Montgomery and Wunder.
- Husson scored four of the first five goals of the second quarter to open up a 5-4 lead.
- Canton responded with five consecutive goals, two from Dayter, and one each from Wunder, Caroline Nappi and Montgomery to open an 9-5 advantage early in the third quarter.
- The Eagles netted four of the next six goals to get within 11-9. However, the Roos seized the momentum back as Wunder and Dayter found the back of the net just 23 seconds apart in the final 35 seconds of the third quarter. Canton led 13-9 after 145 minutes.
- The teams exchanged a pair of goals to start the fourth as Canton led 15-11 with less than nine minutes remaining after Pelton's second tally of the game.
- Husson would score two goals in a 22 second span and got within one with 1:41 remaining. The Eagles won the ensuing draw and had a free-position chance to tie it with 1:11 remaining but Olivia Scott came up with a big save.
- The Roos would clear the ball, call time out and ran out the clock for the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERSÂ
- Dayter led all players with eight points and four assists, while adding four goals and tying a game-high with six draw controls. Wunder tied a career-high with three goals and Pelton and Montgomery finished with two goals and an assist each. Maddy Caron and Nappi chipped in two goals each and combined for five draws.
- Ali Servati and Maddy Thompson both had strong games defensively as Servati picked up a game-high eight ground balls while causing a pair of turnovers. The eight ground balls are the most by a Roo this season. Thompson tied a game-high with four caused turnovers to go with five ground balls.
- Devyn Veits led Husson with five goals, an assist, six draw controls and four caused turnovers. Natalie Whitten chipped in with three goals and two assists, while Averi Baker and Sophia Gomez supplied two goals and an assist each.
- Scott made six saves in the win, while Emily Godfrey made eight stops in defeat over the first 42:33.
- The Roos held slim advantages in shots on goal (24-20), ground balls (31-24) and draw controls (17-16).
