Morrisville, NY – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team overcame a two-goal third period deficit to force overtime, but host SUNY Morrisville scored 1 minute, 15 seconds into the extra session for the 3-2 win on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Logan Robins got the hosts on the board at 11:09 of the opening period off passes from Domeni Della Civita and Ethan Henry. The Mustangs held a slim 13-10 shots advantage in the opening period and a 1-0 lead on the scoreboard after one.
- The hosts doubled their lead at 8:32 of the middle period when Cameron Clark lit the lamp as Trevor Grasby and Curtis Abbott picked up helpers on the play. The Roos held a 12-10 shots advantage in the second period but trailed 2-0 after 40 minutes of play.
- DeBlasiis got Canton on the board at 3:44 of the third period with the skater advantage scoring his second goal of the season. Jordan Prepszl started the breakout with a pass to DeBlasiis.
- The Roos knotted things up at two apiece at the 16:26 mark when Prepszl cycled the puck around the boards leading to a 2-on-0 for Niko Schoner and Jack Seamans. Seamans layed the puck off to Schoner on his right who buried his team-leading sixth goal of the season and his third in the last two games.
- Abbott proved to find the heroics as he scored 75 seconds into the 3-on-3 OT period on a wrap-around goal from behind the net.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Shots on goal were dead even at 36 apiece for the game and faceoffs were also even at 31 apiece.
- Colton Sipperley led Canton with seven shots, while Schoner and Evan Pringle had five each. Brendan Morrow went 16-for-28 on draws.
- Ryan Creenan made 34 saves in the win, while Kelson Hooper turned aside 33 shots in defeat.
- Canton was 1-for-5 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
