Streb, Fields & Williams Lead Roos Against Regis

Milton, MA – Bryon Streb, Terrence Fields and Jevonte Williams scored double digit points, but the Roos were unable to overcome a large halftime deficit in an 80-68 loss to Regis College on the second day of the Autism Awareness Classic on Saturday at Curry College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos jumped out to an early 6-0 lead less than two minutes in. The Pride responded tallying 15 of the next 16 points to open a 15-7 advantage.
  • The score remained within single digits after a pair of Fields free throws with 2:55 remaining in the opening half, but Regis closed the stanza on an 11-0 run to take a commanding 46-26 lead into intermission.
  • Canton used a 13-2 run over a four minute stretch in the second half to trim the deficit to 10 (54-44) after a Fields three-pointer with 13:19 to play.
  • The Roos cut the lead to as little as seven (75-68) after a Fields three-pointer with 1:14 to play, but the Pride went 5-for-6 at the line down the stretch to seal the win.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Streb led Canton in scoring with 15 points, while Fields and Williams tallied 13 points each. Williams added a game-high nine rebounds, while Brennan Harmer chipped in nine points, five rebounds and a game-best five assists.
  • Russell Rau paced Regis with 22 points, while Justin Evelyn (13) and Jamir Harvey (12) also reached double figures.
  • The Pride shot nearly 46% from the field and 41% from three, while Canton recorded marks of 38% and 31%, respectively.
  • The Roos held the edge in rebounds (38-35), fast break points (24-12) and points in the paint (28-24). Regis controlled bench points (29-16), points off turnovers (23-16) and second chance points (9-2).
