Milton, MA – Kevin Goode Jr. and
Bryon Streb both reached double figures in scoring, but a strong second half lifted host Curry College to an 82-64 win in the opening game of the Autism Acceptance Classic on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Colonels led by six on multiple occasions early on, but the Roos knotted things up at 14 apiece nearly nine minutes in. Canton took its first lead of the game at 19-18 after a Goode Jr. free throw with 9:08 to play in the opening half.
- Curry opened a 29-22 lead, the largest for either team in the opening half, but Canton responded with an 11-4 run to knot things up at 33. The hosts closed the final 2:13 of the half on a 9-3 run, including a putback at the buzzer, to take a 42-36 lead into intermission.
- The Roos shot 44% from the field and 40% from three-point range in the opening half, while Curry had marks of 49% and 30%. Goode Jr. paced the Roos with nine first-half points, while Jason Romans and Nick Johnson had 12 each for Curry.
- Canton trimmed the deficit to three early in the second half and trailed by just five (50-45) with 12:27 remaining after a pair of Moe Biao free throws. From there the Colonels used a 19-4 run over the next six minutes to open up a 20 point lead which ultimately led to the 82-64 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Goode Jr. and Streb led the Roos with 13 and 11 points, respectively, as Goode shot 4-for-4 from the line and Streb was 5-for-10 from the field. Terrence Fields and Biao chipped in eight points each, while Eli Larson added six.
- Romans led four in double figures for the Colonels with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Shawn Charles also tallied a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Johnson (19) and Favour Okeke (10) also scored double digit points for the hosts.
- The Colonels held the upper hand in rebounds (40-31), points in the paint (40-30), points off turnovers (18-12) and second chance points (15-7). Canton dominated bench points 35-14.
- Curry shot 54% from the field and 32% from three-point range, while holding the Roos to marks of 37% and 29%, respectively.
