Larson, Fields & Biao Score Eight Each in D-I Exhibition at Le Moyne

Syracuse, NY – Eli Larson, Terrence Fields and Moe Biao led the SUNY Canton men's basketball team with eight points each in an exhibition game at NCAA Division I Le Moyne College on Monday evening at Ted Grant Court.

This is the third ever D-I exhibition for the Roos as they also squared off with Cornell University on November 8, 2018 and with the University at Buffalo on December 21, 2022.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Play was tied early on after a made jumper from Larson tied things at two each. Two possessions later the big man scored in the paint once again. The Roos hung within one at 8-7 after a Fields three-pointer nearly three minutes in.
  • The Dolphins used a 13-0 run over the next three minutes to open a 21-7 advantage. Larson ended the run knocking down a pair of free throws. Less than two minutes later he knocked down another bucket in the paint to keep Canton within 24-11. Larson had eight of the Roos first 11 points.
  • From there Le Moyne began to pull away opening up a 30 point lead with 6:24 left in the opening half. The Dolphins took a 60-23 lead into intermission.
  • The D-I hosts continued to cruise in the second half as all 20 Roos saw at least one minute of action in the exhibition.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Larson, Fields and Biao led the Roos with eight points each and combined for 14 rebounds. Ian Florence-Washington finished with six points and four rebounds knocking down two of his four three-pointers. Jevonte Williams added four points and four boards. Ten different players scored for the Roos.
  • Kaiyem Cleary led the Dolphins with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Nate McClure had 16 points. Darrick Jones Jr. (13), AJ Dancler (12) and Nate Fouts (11) all scored in double figures for Le Moyne.
  • The Dolphins shot 60% from the field and 33% from three-point range, while holding Canton to marks of nearly 27% and 23%.
 
Note: This game is an exhibition for SUNY Canton and therefore statistics do not count towards season stat totals whereas this is a regular season game for Le Moyne and they do.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The men's basketball team returns to action on Friday when they square off with host Curry College in the Autism Acceptance Classic at 5 p.m.
