Bria Hunter recorded 18 more as the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team dropped a pair of North Atlantic Conference matches on Saturday.
The Roos lost to SUNY Cobleskill 3-2 (22-25, 25-27, 26-24, 25-20, 13-15) in the opener before dropping a 3-0 decision (16-25, 15-25, 15-25) to Eastern Nazarene College in second match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Match 1 –
BOX SCORE
- In a tight first set that featured 12 lead changes, Cobleskill took the lead first 4-1. The Roos tied it 6-6 on a kill by sophomore Brooke Hite. Canton then scored a 12-8 advantage on a kill by Hunter. The Fighting Tigers reclaimed the lead at 15-13 courtesy of a Lydia McDonough kill. The Roos again tied the match at 19 all on another Hite kill but Cobleskill captured six of the next nine points to win 25-22.
- The second set turned out to be just as close. Canton took an early 5-0 lead on an ace by sophomore Sammie Frank. An ace by Hunter ran the lead to 10-3. The Fighting Tigers clawed their way back into the set, cutting the lead to 20-19 on an ace by Kasey Olowski. Cobleskill took a 24-22 lead late in the set before two consecutive kills by Huter put the Roos on top 25-24. But the Tigers scored the final three points to win the set 27-25.
- Cobleskill took a 15-9 lead midway through the third set before a series of mini-runs by the Roos tied the score at 23-23. Marshall scored three consecutive kills during the rally and the comeback was completed on a Hunter ace to win the set 26-24.
- The Roos jumped out early in the fourth set 7-4 on a kill by junior Sarah Balcom. The Fighting Tigers were able to tie the score 18-18 late in the set but two Balcom aces and a kill by Frank closed out the set for a 25-20 Canton win.
- In the final set, a Marshall kill put the Roos up 5-2 early. Five straight points gave Cobleskill at 10-7 lead and they were able to maintain their advantage for the rest of the set winning 15-13 and taking the match 3-2.
Match 2 –
BOX SCORE
- In the first set against Eastern Nazarene, the Lions leaped out to a 4-1 lead. Canton tied it up a 4-4, helped by an ace by senior Kaylee Clark. After another Eastern Nazarene run, the Roos got to within 13-11 on a Marshall kill but the Lions scored 14 of the next 19 points to win the set 25-16.
- The Lions ran out to an early 11-4 lead on a kill by Maria Clarabuch. An ace by junior Sarah Towles got the Roos within 11-7 but that's as close as they would come, with Eastern Nazarene winning the set 25-15.
- The final set saw Eastern Nazarene cruise to a 13-3 lead. The Roos scored five straight, including a kill by freshman Hannah Lombardi and ace by senior Cadin Taggart, closing the gap to 18-12, however the Lions won the set 25-15 and swept the match 3-0.
