Meneses Records Three Save Shutout in Draw at Keuka

Keuka Park, NY – Senior Jason Meneses stopped all three shots he faced to lead the SUNY Canton men's soccer team to a 0-0 draw at Keuka College on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Keuka outshot Canton 6-1 in the opening half including a 2-0 shots on goal advantage but Meneses made two saves to keep things scoreless at intermission.
  • The Wolves owned a 5-2 shots advantage in the second half and Meneses turned aside the only shot on target to help the Roos earn the draw.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • The Wolves finished the game with an 11-3 shots advantage and 3-0 shots on goal edge. Canton held a slim edge in corner kicks (5-4).
  • Michael Gavette registered a pair of shots for the Roos, while Eric Randall had the other attempt.
  • Meneses made three saves in his first shutout of the season, while Carson Smith was not forced to stop a shot in 90 minutes of action for Keuka.
  • The shutout is the second career clean sheet for Meneses as he also had one during the 2021 season against Maine Presque Isle (10/10/21).

The Roos are back in action on Saturday when they host Eastern Nazarene College on Senior Day at 3:30 p.m.
