DuBois Eclipses 1,000 Career Points in Road Loss at Farmington

Farmington, ME – Terrence Fields cored a team-high 21 points and Quran DuBois eclipsed the 1,000 career point milestone, but Maine Farmington earned a 104-83 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Farmington jumped out to an early eight point lead eight minutes in. Trailing 26-19 the Roos used a 10-0 run behind six points from Fields and four from DeMerrill Levy to take a 29-26 lead forcing a Beavers timeout.
  • The game was knotted at 34 apiece with 3:43 left in the opening half before the hosts closed the half on a 15-4 run to take a 49-38 lead into intermission.
  • Canton battled back in the second half getting within 61-56 six minutes into the second half. The Beavers used a 13-0 run to blow open an 18 point lead that the Roos were unable to overcome.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Fields paced the Roos with 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting including hitting six of his eight three-pointers. Levy netted 16 points on 6-for-13 shooting, while Brennan Harmer tallied 15 points shooting 6-for-9 from the field. DuBois (14) and Juztin Chambers-Phillips also reached double figures.
  • Terion Moss tallied 34 points and six assists on 10-for-14 shooting from the field and 12-for-14 from the charity stripe to lead the Beavers. Kyle Donlin (24), Nathan Poulin (20) and Jack Kane (17) posted double figure points for UMF.
  • The Roos shot 43.8% from the field and 45.5% from three-point range, but the Beavers were on fire hitting on 62.1% of their field goals and 40.9% of their three-pointers.
  • The Beavers held the edge in rebounds (37-21) and points in the paint (46-18).
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The men's basketball team returns to NAC action on Friday when they host Maine Maritime at 7:30 p.m.
