Fields Nets Career-High 25 Points as Men’s Basketball Downs Hornets in NAC Play

Lyndonville, VT – Terrence Fields scored a career-high 25 points and Quran DuBois netted 20 as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team earned a 101-88 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) road win at NVU-Lyndon on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Hornets led by four early on but an 11-0 Roo run gave Canton a seven-point advantage five minutes in. Lyndon responded with a 12-4 run over the next two minutes to take an 18-17 lead.
  • The Roos opened their lead to as large as 14 with 4:05 left in the opening half and took a 54-45 lead into intermission.
  • Canton extended their lead to 15 early on in the second half with the Hornets never getting closer than 11 points the rest of the way.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Fields led all players with a career-high 25 points, besting his previous mark of 15 earlier this season. He knocked down 10 of his 17 shot attempts adding nine rebounds, three assists and two steals. DuBois posted 20 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals. DeMerrill Levy recorded 18 points in 20 minutes off the bench. Juztin Chambers-Phillips (16) and Brennan Harmer (12) also reached double figures, while Eli Larson and Fadil Atcha-Dedji hauled down 10 rebounds apiece.
  • Gregory Gonyea Jr. finished with 19 points, while Peyton Olsen posted 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Hornets. Antonio Carlisle (14) and Mondwell Bukle (13) also scored in double figures for the hosts.
  • Most statistical categories were fairly even with the Roos shooting 48% from the field and 32% from three-point range.

The men's basketball team returns to NAC action on Saturday at 3 p.m. when they visit Maine Farmington.
