Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team honored the team's history with a performance on and off the ice Saturday afternoon. The National Championship teams from 1973, 1983 and 1992 were recognized between the first and second period, and senior
Noah Robinson scored the game winning goal midway through the third in an exciting game that saw the Roos win the game 4-3 and sweep Anna Maria College in their weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jack Seamans opened the scoring at 8:40 of the first period. Seamans picked up the puck at his own blue line and beat his defender one-on-one before lifting the puck over Cole Johnston's glove to give the Roos the 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by Colton Sipperley and Jarrod Croswell.
- Gino DeBlasiis gave Canton a 2-0 lead at 17:41 of the second, backhanding a Jordyn Mughal feed from behind the net. Robinson picked up the secondary assist.
- Sam Martin ran the lead to 3-0 when he tipped in a Sebastien Paquette blast from the point with just 20 seconds left in the period. Reilly McKinnon picked up an assist on the play as well.
- Matthew Byrne put the Amcats on the board at 2:51 of the third period, scoring a power play goal to cut the lead to 3-1.
- Later in the third, Anna Maria scored two goals in less than 90 seconds, one by Giovanni Perillo and another by Justin Taylor to tie the game 3-3.
- Robinson put the Roos back on top at 8:50 of the third when he sniped a shot over Aidan Richardson's shoulder and into the net. Paquette and Sirota assisted on the game winner.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Robinson finished with a goal and an assist.
- Croswell led the Roos with three blocks.
- Freshman Nate Hopkins had 21 saves for the Roos before giving way to Kelson Hooper who finished with 10. Johnston had 18 saves for the Amcats and Richardson had 12.
- The Roos were 0/10 on the power play and 3/4 on the penalty kill.
- Both teams won 33 faceoffs each.
Prior to the game long-time SUNY Canton hockey coach Terry Martin dropped a ceremonial puck in an alumni celebration which honored the National Championship teams from 1973, 1983 and 1992.
