HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos jumped out to a 10-4 advantage early and never looked back taking the first set 25-10. SUNY Canton scored seven consecutive points to close out the match – three on kills from Dreyer.
- Cobleskill turned the tables in the second set, leading 7-0 and closing things out 25-9.
- The third set was a back-and-forth affair with neither team able to make a large run. The Roos were able to move ahead 14-7 on an ace by sophomore Sarah Balcom and appeared ready to close the door with a 24-21 lead. But the Fighting Tigers clawed back, scoring five straight points, to take the set 26-24.
- Cobleskill scored eight of the first nine points of the fourth set. The Roos responded, closing the gap to 11-7 on two kills from Dreyer and an ace by junior Bailey Nadeau. The two teams traded points the rest of the way and SUNY Cobleskill closed things out 25-19.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- In addition to her 11 kills, Dreyer recorded a .346 hitting percentage. Clark's 19 digs were her fourth highest output of the year.
- Junior Michaella Decapua led the team with 16 assists and was second on the team with 11 digs. Sophomore Cadin Taggart finished the night with eight kills and eight digs.
- Alexis Miranda led SUNY Cobleskill with 22 kills and Mackenzie Larson notched five aces and a team-high 17 digs.
