Canton, NY – Samantha Dayter posted four goals and four assists and
Stephanie Thayer added five goals and an assist to lead the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team to a 19-6 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win on Senior Day on Saturday.
The Roos remain perfect at 3-0 in NAC play and move to 6-5 overall, while the Eagles fall to 0-7 and 0-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos scored the first five goals of the game from five different goal scorers in Lindsey Wunder, Piniewski, Thayer, Casey Pelton and Morgan Montgomery. The goal was the first career tally for Piniewski.
- Husson got on the board off the stick of Devyn Veits with 7:15 left in the opening quarter. The Roos led 8-1 after 15 minutes.
- The hosts outscored Husson 4-1 in the second quarter to lead 12-2 at intermission.
- The Roos continued to control play in the second half owning a 7-4 advantage on the scoreboard as Shelby Roberts netted just her second collegiate goal and first of the year.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Dayter recorded game-highs in points (8), assists (4) and draw controls (10), while Thayer recorded a game-high five goals and tied a team-high with three caused turnovers. Wunder registered two goals, two assists, five draw controls and three ground balls.
- Maddy Caron posted two goals and an assist, while Pelton finished with a goal and two assists. The duo also combined to cause five turnovers. LeMay recorded a goal and assist, while Grandaw, Roberts, Piniewski and Montgomery had one goal each. The goal for Roberts was her first of the season and just the second of her career.
- Roberts picked up a team-high six ground balls, while Wunder had five draw controls. Caron and Thayer caused three turnovers each.
- Leary made three saves in the first half while allowing just two goals to improve to 5-5 on the season. Erin Anderson played the third quarter, while Olivia Scott closed things out in the fourth.
- Sophia Gomez and Veits led the way for the Eagles with two goals each. Emma Regin made four saves allowing 12 goals in the first half taking the loss, while Emily Godfrey turned aside six shots surrendering seven goals after halftime.
- The Roos held the upper hand in shots on goal (29-9), ground balls (28-20) and draw controls (17-10). Canton went 12-for-15 on clear attempts, while Husson was 7-for-27.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos have a quick turnaround as they host Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday at 11 a.m. The team will host an Autism Awareness game.
