Canton, NY – Samantha Dayter set the SUNY Canton single-game NCAA D-III era points (14) and assists (8) mark as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team remained perfect in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play with a 19-4 win v. Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday.
Dayter's 14 points on Sunday broke the Roos record previously held by Robyn Carroll'17 who had 12 points on March 20, 2016 v. Wilkes. Dayter's eight assists are also a new program mark breaking the previous record held by both Tressa Goolden '15 and Keeley Rice. Goolden accomplished the feat on April 2, 2015, while Rice did it twice, most recently on April 24, 2015 v. Wells. Dayter also previously had six assists earlier this season at Fredonia on March 5th.
Dayter and
Maddy Caron led the Roos with six goals each on Saturday as SUNY Canton improved to 4-0 in NAC play and 7-5 overall. The Mariners dropped to 5-6 and 3-1.

AUTISM AWARENESS GAME
April is Autism Awareness Month and the Roos dedicated their game on Sunday to all of those families who have been impacted by Autism including the Leary family. Earlier this week, starting goaltender
Madison Leary shared her brother Bryce's
story in an article posted on our webpage and on our social media outlets. Bryce also helped lead the Roos on Sunday as he gave high-fives to all of the SUNY Canton players as they entered the field.
Â
Bryce's story is special but not completely unique. Each year approximately 1 in 44 children will be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder which can result in significant challenges to daily function. To raise awareness, the team provided blue Autism Speaks bracelets to spectators at today's game and Madison's teammates will continue to wear these bracelets throughout the rest of this season.
Â
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos are back in action on Thursday when they host SUNY Potsdam at 4 p.m.
