Canton, NY – Samantha Dayter posted game-highs in points (7), goals (6) and draw controls (7) but No. 17 nationally-ranked St. Lawrence earned a 20-11 win v. the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Lawrence controlled play early on jumping out to a 7-1 lead after the opening quarter. Dayter recorded the Roos lone goal scoring with an extra attacker.
- Play was more even in the second quarter (7-3) with Dayter scoring twice more and Maddy Caron adding the 20th goal of her rookie season. The Saints led 14-4 at intermission.
- The Roos outscored the Saints 7-6 after intermission with Dayter, Casey Pelton, Hannah Reed and EllaRose LeMay all finding the back of the net.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Dayter was impressive for the Roos registering game-highs in points, goals and draws. She also went 2-for-4 on free-position shots.
- Pelton finished with a pair of goals for the Roos, while Caron and Lindsey Wunder finished with three draw controls each. Shelby Roberts tallied a team-best three caused turnovers.
- Isabel Silvia led the Saints with four goals and an assist, while Charlotte Powell finished with a hat trick. Jamie Allan had two goals and an assist, while Emma Polumbo and Rachel Burke scored twice each.
- Raelynn Bovenzi made two saves in the first half to earn the win for the Saints. Madison Leary stopped 14 shots for the Roos.
- St. Lawrence held the edge in shots on goal (34-19), ground balls (16-14) and draw controls (20-15).

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos return to action on Saturday when they host Husson University in North Atlantic Conference action at 12 p.m. The team will celebrate Senior Day.
