Reed Scores Twice as Women’s Lacrosse Closes Spring Break Trip v. Carroll

Haines City, FL – Hannah Reed led the Roos with two goals but the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-5 decision to Carroll University in their final game in Florida on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos led early on when EllaRose LeMay scored a goal with Canton on a player advantage.
  • Carroll scored two goals to take a 2-1 lead after 15 minutes. The second quarter proved to be the difference for the Pioneers as they outscored Canton 7-0 and led 9-1 at intermission.
  • Carroll doubled up the Roos 4-2 in both the third and fourth quarters leading to the 17-5 final.
  • Morgan Montgomery and Reed scored third quarter goals, while Emily Vogt and Reed found the back of the net in the fourth quarter.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • LeMay, Maddy Weir and Erin Grandaw all caused two turnovers for the Roos, while Morgan Montgomery led Canton with three draw controls.
  • Madison Leary picked up a team-high five ground balls, while LeMay, Weir and Reegan Sheehy picked up three ground balls each.
  • Leary finished with nine saves for the Roos.
  • Rebecca McDaniel turned aside six shots for the Pioneers.
  • Katrina Hardin paced Carroll with five goals and two assists, while Abby Stas had two goals and three assists. Clara Jelacic and Zoe Esveldt supplied two goals each.
     
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos are back in action next Saturday (3/26) when they host SUNY Poly in their North Atlantic Conference opener at 1 p.m.
