Selena Tasli went 3-for-3 at the plate in Game 2 and had four hits on the day, but the SUNY Canton softball team dropped a pair of games to Central and SUNY Oneonta on their third day of the Gene Cusic Classic on Tuesday in Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- The Central bats came out hot with 10 runs in the top half of the first inning.
- The Roos got on the board in the bottom of the frame when Jordan Knapp scored Sophia Harris on a sacrifice fly to center. Harris led off the inning with a triple to left field.
- Both teams added one run each in the third. Knapp singled through the left side to bring across Harris who singled down the right field line earlier in the inning.
- Central added eight runs in the fourth inning before Canton added a third run in the fifth for the 19-3 final. Kayla Chavarri and Selena Tasli executed a double steal for the Roos final run.
- Harris led Canton going 2-for-3 with two runs in the opener, while Tasli and Jordan Knapp had the other two hits with Knapp driving in a pair of runs.
- Emma Neu picked up the win for Central allowing one earned run on three hits with four strike outs in four innings.
- Kayla Chavarri took the loss surrendering 16 earned runs with a strike out and three walks in four innings.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- The Roos struck for six hits in Tuesday's second game but were unable to get a run across against Oneonta pitchers Marissa Dionisio and Angelina Scalere.
- The Red Dragons scored one run in the first and had three runs each in the second and third before a five run fourth.
- Tasli went a perfect 3-for-3 in the nightcap, while Mackenzie Currie had two hits and Harris finished with the other Canton hit.
- Dionisio earned the win on the mound for Oneonta throwing four innings with four strike outs and two walks. Scalere tossed the final inning allowing two hits.
- Alaina Beane took the loss scattering 10 earned runs and three walks over four innings.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos are off on Wednesday before returning to action on Thursday with games at 9 and 11 a.m. against SUNY Brockport and Wilmington College, respectively.
