HOW IT HAPPENED

- SUNY Canton continued to dominate the chances in the second period as they owned an 11-3 shots edge but Mustang netminder Garrett Boyonoski continued to be outstanding making 11 saves as the teams skated to second intermission in a scoreless tie.
- Sipperley got the Roos on the board at 7:54 of the third period. Zac Sirota won a defensive zone face off and Matt Passaretti played the puck up the far boards to Sipperley. He and Gino DeBlasiis skated into the offensive zone 2-on-1 as Sipperley beat Mustang goaltender Garrett Boyonoski high for the lead.
- Cameron Clark evened the score at the 12:59 mark just five seconds into the skater advantage. Luca Esposito took a shot off an offensive zone face off win and Clark put home the rebound off a Schlyter save. Trevor Grasby also earned an assist on the play.
- The Roos outshot Morrisville 3-0 in OT and Jake Mayette had a great chance on a nice give-and-go with Jakobsson but his shot went just wide of the right post as the teams would settle for a tie.
