Canton, NY – Danny Santana and
Quran DuBois each recorded a game-high 24 points to lead the SUNY Canton men's basketball team to an 87-68 first round win in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship.
With the win the Roos advance to the NAC Quarterfinals where they will square off with two seed SUNY Poly on Friday at 7:30 p.m. on the campus of the top seed in the NAC West, SUNY Delhi.

Andrew Fitch recorded four blocks during tonight's game and now ranks fifth all-time in NCAA Division III in career blocks with 371. Entering today's game, he ranked first in the country in both blocks per game (4.52) and total blocks (104).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team led by more than four through the opening 10 minutes. With the game knotted at 21 with 6:40 to go in the opening half Canton went on a 9-0 run behind five points from DuBois.
- SUNY Canton would take a nine point lead (39-30) into intermission after Santana drained a three, got fouled and made the ensuing free throw with 47 seconds to go.
- The Fighting Tigers trimmed the Roos lead to three (54-41) just more than seven minutes into the second half, but that was as close as they would get the remainder of the way.
- The Roos would run off 12 of the next 14 points to open up a commanding 13 point advantage after a DuBois three midway through the half.
- SUNY Canton extended the lead to as many as 21 in the convincing win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Santana and DuBois finished with game-highs of 24 points each. Santana shot 8-for-12 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line, while DuBois stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, three assists and three steals.
- Fitch came up just one rebound short of his fifth double-double in the last seven games with 14 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. His four blocks moved him into fifth place all-time in NCAA Division III career blocks with 371. He is just six away from fourth place and eight away from jumping to third all-time.
- Chambers-Phillips also added 14 points for Canton and hauled down seven boards.
- Justin Feldman led the Tigers with 21 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Naphtali Regilus supplied 16 points, five rebounds and four assists. Juwan Malone and Sharaim Best added nine points apiece.
- Canton held a 49-37 edge in rebounding and dominated points in the paint, 42-14.

The Roos advance to a NAC quarterfinal game against SUNY Poly on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The game will be played at the NAC West's top seed SUNY Delhi. This concludes the 2021-22 season for the Tigers.
