Delhi, NY – Quran DuBois and
Danny Santana supplied 17 points apiece but the SUNY Canton men's basketball team was unable to overcome a double digit first half deficit in a 71-64 loss to SUNY Poly in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) quarterfinal playoff game on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was back-and-forth early on with the Roos trailing by just one after Brennan Harmer stole the ball and hit a three-pointer in transition. From that point SUNY Poly used a 10-0 run to open an 11 point advantage.
- The Wildcats would open their largest lead of the game at 14 pulling ahead 33-19 with 3:38 to play in the opening half. The Roos trailed 38-25 at intermission.
- Poly held a double-digit lead for much of the second half until Canton used a 10-2 run to cut the lead to just five (63-58) after a DuBois layup with 3:20 remaining in the game. Â However, that was as close as Canton could get the remainder of the way as the Wildcats held on for the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- DuBois and Santana finished with 17 points apiece, while Juztin Chambers-Phillips also reached double figures with 10 points.
- NAC Player of the Year Josh Gregory led the Wildcats with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Jesse O'Dell recorded a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. LJ Randle (10) and Mitch Kernizan (10) also reached double digits in scoring.
- The Wildcats controlled the boards (48-33) and points in the paint (42-16), while Canton had the upper hand in points off turnovers (16-9).
- Poly shot 50.8% from the field and 63.6% from three-point range, while the Roos had marks of 34.4% and 39.1%. Canton outshot the Wildcats 78.6% to 30.8% at the foul line.
- Andrew Fitch finishes his SUNY Canton career fifth all-time in NCAA Division III in career blocks with 372.
