Canton, NY – Quran DuBois and
Andrew Fitch both recorded double-doubles to lead the SUNY Canton men's basketball to an 82-79 overtime North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win on Tuesday evening.
Fitch finished on a dunk with 1.4 seconds remaining to knot the game at 66 apiece and force overtime. From there DuBois took over with 10 of the Roos 16 points in the extra session.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos led by as many as six in a back-and-forth opening half and took a 32-29 lead into intermission.
- SUNY Canton stormed out of halftime going on a 13-2 run to take their largest lead of the contest at 45-31 after an old-fashioned three-point play from DeMerrill Levy.
- Canton continued to lead by 14 with 12:47 remaining in regulation before the Badgers chipped away at the lead.
- NVU-Johnson used a 9-0 run to tie the game at 56 with 7:54 to play. The Roos extended the lead to four after Fitch split a pair of free throws with 59 seconds left.
- The Badgers answered with a three from Yeskin Walker Willia. Canton got a great look on a three from the corner that was just off the mark as Malik Moore scored in transition the other way with nine seconds left and hit the ensuing free throw for the two point lead.
- DuBois brought the ball up the floor and Brandon Averitt collected the loose ball quickly hitting Fitch in the low post for an open dunk underneath with 1.4 seconds left. The Badgers desperation heave was off the mark as the teams headed to overtime.
- DuBois was dominant in overtime scoring Canton's first eight points helping the team out to an eight point advantage it would never surrender.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- DuBois finished with his first collegiate double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds hitting all eight of his free throws. His 14 rebounds marked a career-high effort. Fitch was a force posting 15 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks while changing multiple other shots. He finished 6-for-6 from the field.
- Levy chipped in 17 points and Santana added 16 points. Averitt hit a couple of early threes off the bench and made the key play to find Fitch at the end of regulation.
- Brian Lee led all players with 24 points for the Badgers, while Walker Willia posted a double-double on 18 points, 17 rebounds and five assists. Samuel Stephens chipped in 13 points.

The men's basketball team is back in action on Thursday when it hosts Maine Fort Kent at 7 p.m.
