HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morrow opened the scoring with a power play goal at 3:54 of the first period. Herringer made a spectacular move, splitting two defenders before feeding Morrow with a cross-crease feed. Senior Sam Martin gathered the secondary assist on the play.
- The Bears' Robert Clerc tied the game at 14:51 of the period, depositing a shot top corner.
- Potsdam took the lead on a Jack Ludwig goal at 4:33 of the second before the Roos answered when sophomore Colton Sipperley evened the game a 2-2. Sipperley's goal came on another SUNY Canton power play and was assisted by freshman Evan Pringle and Morrow.
- Drew Rose gave the Bears a 3-2 advantage at 13:10 of the second. But the Roos struck back again, this time just over 30 seconds later, when Herringer found an open Zac Sirota on a three-on-one. Sirota buried the puck for his fifth goal of the year tying the game 3-3.
- Potsdam went ahead again at 3:50 of the third period on another Rose goal. The Roos battled back to tie the game at 4-4 on Morrow's second of the night and went ahead 5-4 on his third at 17:37 of the period. But the Bears' Nick Alfieri would again tie the score with the teams playing four aside and send the game into overtime.
- In the extra session, the Roos missed on a shot just wide of the net which resulted in a 2 on 0 break going the other way. Ryan Mahlmeister finished a nifty give-and-go passing play to give the Bears the 6-5 OT win.
