Canton, NY – There were many memorable moments from the year of 2022 for the SUNY Canton Athletics department including participating in its eighth year as a full-time member of NCAA Division III and fifth year in the North Atlantic Conference. 2022 HIGHLIGHTS (WLAX): NCAA TOURNAMENT BOUND: Women's Lacrosse Captures Second NAC Championship

Canton, NY – Samantha Dayter and Maddy Caron combined for 15 points as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team cruised to a 22-6 win vs. Maine Maritime Academy in the NAC Women's Lacrosse championship game on May 1st in Canton.With the win the Roos earned the NAC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship for the second time in program history. ______________________________________________________________________________
 
2022 HIGHLIGHTS (MHOC): Men's Hockey Captures Inaugural GNAC Commissioner's Cup with 5-2 Win v. Albertus Magnus

West Springfield, MA – Zac Sirota posted a goal and two assists and Filip Schlyter was outstanding making a career-high 46 saves as the No. 3 seeded SUNY Canton men's hockey team captured the GNAC Commissioner's Cup with a 5-2 upset win v. No. 1 seeded Albertus Magnus College (16-7-1) on February 19th.

2022 HIGHLIGHTS (WBB): Borth's Game-Winning Three at the Buzzer Lifts Roos Past Cobleskill, 55-53 in NAC Quarterfinal

Utica, NY – Shanelle Borth scored a game-high 16 points including hitting the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer to lift the SUNY Canton women's basketball team to a thrilling 55-53 win v. SUNY Cobleskill in a NAC quarterfinal playoff game at SUNY Poly on February 19th. ______________________________________________________________________________
 
2022 HIGHLIGHTS (MLAX): Strong Second Quarter Pushes Men's Lacrosse Past Poly 17-16 in NAC Semis

Utica, NY – Hunter Olsen posted a game-high 10 points as the Roos outscored SUNY Poly 8-2 in the second quarter on their way to a thrilling 17-16 win in the NAC championship semifinals on April 29th. 2022 HIGHLIGHTS (MGOLF): Hess and Roos Win Elmira College Fall Invitational

Elmira, NY – Senior Jake Hess earned medalist honors with a round of 76 and the SUNY Canton men's golf team captured the team title on September 13th at the Elmira College Fall Invitational at Elmira Country Club.

Hess bested the 58-golfer field by a single stroke and the Roos won the team title by three strokes in a field that featured 12 teams.

2022 HIGHLIGHTS (WHOC): Lalonde Scores Twice as Roos Down Bears, 4-3

Potsdam, NY – Freshman Danika Lalonde scored a pair of goals to get the Roos out to a two-goal lead as they earned a 4-3 Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) win at SUNY Potsdam on November 18th. ______________________________________________________________________________
 
2022 HIGHLIGHTS (MBB): Nunnally Posts Career-High 25 as Roos Set Pair of D-III Era Shooting Records in Win at Cazenovia

Canton, NY – Michael Nunnally netted a career-high 25 points and the Roos shot nearly 64% from the field and over 72% from three-point range on their way to a convincing 101-72 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) road win at Cazenovia College on December 3rd. The Roos set D-III era single-game program records in field goal and three-point percentages in the win.

2022 HIGHLIGHTS (SB): Chavarri Homers Twice, Knapp Homers Eclipses 100 Career Hits as Softball Sweeps Broncos

Canton, NY – Kayla Chavarri hit a pair of home runs and Jordan Knapp also homered and eclipsed the 100-career hit mark as the SUNY Canton softball team earned a key 13-5 and 9-1 NAC sweep v. SUNY Delhi on April 29th.

2022 HIGHLIGHTS (BB): Gibson's Shutout, Neuland's Strong Outing Leads Baseball to Friday Sweep of SUNY Poly

Canton, NY – Kieran Gibson tossed a seven-inning shutout and Gavin Neuland threw a complete game allowing just a single earned run as the SUNY Canton baseball team swept visiting SUNY Poly by scores of 6-0 and 10-2 on April 15th at Tom Fay Field.

2022 HIGHLIGHTS (WVB): Werner and Adams Lead Volleyball to NAC Sweep v. Cazenovia & SUNY Poly

Utica, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team opened the NAC portion of its schedule with a pair of 3-0 sweeps against Cazenovia (25-12, 25-12, 25-17) and host SUNY Poly (25-19, 25-18, 25-17) on September 24th.

2022 HIGHLIGHTS (MSOC): Freshman Gavette Makes the Difference on Senior Day

Canton, NY – On a day the team celebrated its six seniors, it was freshman Michael Gavette who scored the game-winner just 15 seconds into the second half, giving the Roos a 2-0 victory over SUNY Delhi on October 22nd.

Prior to the game, SUNY Canton recognized the careers of graduating seniors Joey Johnston, Connor Kelley, Van Moussavou, Evan Petersen, Chris Cook and Agustin Nunez.

Castleton, VT – Junior Brogan LaRose and sophomore Lydia Snow led the SUNY Canton men's and women's cross country teams in their first meet of the 2022 season on September 3rd at Castleton. LaRose led the men to a third place finish out of five teams, while the women recorded a third place showing out of three teams.

2022 HIGHLIGHTS (WSOC): Nealon's First Career Goal Helps Women's Soccer Earn 1-1 Draw at Poly

Utica, NY – Morgan Nealon netted her first collegiate goal to put the SUNY Canton women's soccer team on top early in an eventual 1-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) draw at SUNY Poly on October 12th.
