Canton, NY – DeMerrill Levy and
Brennan Harmer both reached double figures as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team fell to crosstown St. Lawrence 68-52 on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints jumped out to an early 9-2 lead just more than four minutes in after a Trent Adamson dunk. The visitors would extend their lead to as many as 12 (21-9) in the opening half.
- The Roos battled back with a Levy four-point play, a jumper from Quran DuBois and back-to-back three balls from Harmer getting within two (23-21) after a 12-2 run.
- St. Lawrence responded with a 13-0 run before a Michael Nunnally layup cut the deficit to 36-23 at intermission.
- The Saints extended their lead to as many as 28 in the second half before Canton trimmed the lead to 14 in the final minute.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Levy and Harmer led the Roos with 12 and 11 points, respectively, while combining for seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. Harmer knocked down three of his eight shots from beyond the arc. DuBois and Nunnally chipped in eight points and five rebounds each and Juztin Chambers-Phillips tallied seven points.
- Aidan Macaulay (16) and Trey Syroka (15) led a balanced St. Lawrence attack as the duo combined to shoot 13-for-22 from the field.
- The Saints shot 47.5% as a team, while Canton hit on 33.3% of their attempts.
- St. Lawrence controlled points in the paint (44-18), points off turnovers (27-16) and fast break points (16-8).

The men's basketball team will play its third straight North Country institution on Tuesday when it makes the short trip up Route 11 to visit SUNY Potsdam at 7 p.m. Â
