Kelson Hooper recorded a 34 save shutout in his collegiate debut as the SUNY Canton men's hockey team earned a 3-0 road win at Rivier University on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The hosts owned a 14-8 shots advantage in the opening period, but Hooper turned aside all 14 shots he faced to keep things scoreless after 20 minutes.
- Shots were nearly even with the Raiders holding a slim edge in the second period, but it was the Roos who converted with 59 seconds left in the period. Evan Pringle canned his fourth goal of the season scoring with the skater advantage off passes from Zac Sirota and Brady Morrison.
- Canton doubled its lead just 2:20 into the third period off a turnover. Sirota picked up the puck finding Sipperley who buried his first goal of the season.
- The Roos would add an equalizer at 14:01 when Gino Deblasiis tallied his third goal of the weekend off helpers from Brendan Morrow and Noah Robinson.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Canton was 1-for-4 on the power play, while killing off all five of their penalties.
- Hooper made 26 of his 34 saves over the first two periods.
- Pringle and Deblasiis are now tied for the team lead with four goals apiece. Two of Pringle's four goals this season have come with the skater advantage.
- Sirota, Morrow and Nic Herringer all won more face offs than they lost in the game.
- Sipperley, Jordyn Mughal, Trevor Christopher and Reilly McKinnon led the Roos with three shots on goal each.
- Hooper finished with 34 saves in the win, while Andrew LoRusso turned aside 24 shots in defeat.
