  • The Alfred State lead ballooned to as many as 27 (43-16), but Canton hung tough closing the final 3:18 of the half on an 11-0 run to keep within striking distance at 43-27 at intermission.
  • Canton continued its spurt from the end of the first half starting the second half on an 8-0 run extending the run of consecutive points to 19, as they were within eight less than two minutes into the second half.
  • The Roos took their first lead of the game with 12:50 remaining after a DuBois triple made it 53-52.
  • The teams exchanged the lead back-and-forth with Canton holding a 65-62 lead with 7:20 left after a Brennan Harmer three. That would mark the last lead of the game for the Roos.
  • The Pioneers used an 8-0 run to get a cushion but Canton got within on two different occasions after made free throws from JJ Omaga. Trailing by one (74-73) with 44 seconds to play the Roos forced a turnover as Fadil Atcha-Dedji came away with a steal.
  • The Roos had a great look with 11 seconds left from DuBois that was just off the mark and the Pioneers scored a transition layup the other way. Canton would have one more desperation three to tie it from the corner at the buzzer as Alfred State hung on for the win.
