Match 1 – BOX SCORE
  • The Roos jumped out 5-1 early, capped with two kills by Dreyer. The two teams traded points after that, with SUNY Canton holding on for the win, 25-20.
  • In the second set, the Fighting Tigers led 9-4, but the Roos pushed back, taking a 12-11 lead on a kill by sophomore Cassidy Werner.  The Roos would not trail again, winning the set 25-18.
  • There were eight lead changes early in the third set, with the Roos finally taking control on a kill by Adams to lead 16-14.  A Werner kill pushed the lead 24-19.  A Cobleskill comeback put them on top 25-24, however the Roos showed resilience, scoring three straight – including a set-clinching ace by junior Bethanie Gratton – to take the match.
Match 2 – BOX SCORE
  • SUNY Poly led early, outscoring the Roos 12-4.  SUNY Canton scored 9 of the next 10 points to tie it 13 all, capped off with a kill by sophomore Sarah Balcom.  The Wildcats would run off six straight to regain the lead, but the Roos would not be stopped on their way to a 25-23 win.
  • After an early back-and-forth set, SUNY Canton gained control and went ahead 12-5 on a Balcom kill.  That control continued throughout the remainder of the set with the Roos winning 25-13.
  • An 8-4 SUNY Poly lead quickly evaporated and a Dreyer kill evened the match at 8-8.  The Roos then ran out to a 13-8 lead punctuated by another Dreyer kill.  The Wildcats would tie the set again at 13 all.  A kill by sophomore Cadin Taggart gave SUNY Canton a 19-18 lead, and another Roo run put the finishing touches on the set with the final score of 25-19.
