Colmar, PA – Pierce Diamond recorded a 32 save shutout and
Brett Bannister tallied a goal and assist to lead the SUNY Canton men's hockey team to a 4-0 road win at Arcadia University on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos got on the board first just under two minutes into the game. Brendan Morrow took a face off in the defensive zone and Arcadia one it back but Bailey Conklin poked the puck away and Brett Bannister fed him in the length of the ice. Conklin collected the puck circling behind the net and firing a shot past Knight goaltender Drake Voell.
- Pierce Diamond made 15 first period saves as the Roos led 1-0 after one period.
- Canton added a pair of goals just 22 seconds apart in the middle period. Brady Morrison took a shot from the point that was turned aside by Voell. The loose puck was collected at the near boards by Gino DeBlasiis who skated into the slot and left the puck for Matthew Headland. He ripped a shot into the top right corner for a 2-0 lead at the 3:12 mark.
- Seconds later the Roos were at it again. Sebastien Paquette fed the puck from behind the Canton net up the far boards to Carson Lanceleve. He left a quick drop off pass to Brendan McCormack as he played it forward to Sam Martin at mid-ice. At the right circle Martin paused as if he was looking for a pass and fired a low shot past the Arcadia goalie for the 3-0 lead.
- The Roos dominated shots 21-8 in the second period and led 3-0 after 40 minutes.
- Canton concluded the scoring at 13:21 of the third period on the power play. Zac Sirota played the puck from the right side to Lanceleve at the near post. Bannister found the loose puck at the far post and put it into the net for the 4-0 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Diamond recorded a 32 save shutout in the win for the Roos.
- Voell made 14 saves over the first 23:34 allowing three goals, while Fletcher Bolda turned aside 24 shots allowing one score over the final 35:06.
- The Roos went 1-for-7 on the power play and the Canton penalty kill was a perfect 7-for-7.
- The goal for Conklin was his first of the season and fifth of his career.
- With his two assists Lanceleve continues to lead the team with nine points.
- With McCormack and Morrison's assists they continue to pace the Roos with six each on the season.

The men's hockey team is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday when they visit SUNY Potsdam at 7 p.m.
