HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Arcadia held a 14-8 edge in shots but neither team could find the back of the net in the opening period.
  • The Roos got on the board first at 16:23 of the second period shortly after the teams finished a 4-on-4. Brendan Morrow hit Jesse Farabee with a pass the length of the ice as he skated in, dangled and beat Knight goaltender Fletcher Bolda top shelf for the 1-0 lead.
  • SUNY Canton dominated the second period holding a 15-5 shots on goal edge and took a 1-0 lead into second intermission.
  • Arcadia knotted the score at one apiece at 5:49 of the third period on a Pallen Brooks goal.
  • The Roos regained the one goal lead at 14:06 when Farabee picked off a Knights clearance attempt and hit Carson Lanceleve with a quick pass from right to left as he finished off a one-timer.
  • The hosts were quick to respond tying the game at 2-2 just 13 seconds later on a Dylan Infantino tally.
  • The Roos continued to battle and just over a minute later Filip Jakobsson put Canton ahead again. Jake Mayette fed the puck low to Brendan McCormack who played a quick pass out in front to Jakobsson who ripped a shot into the top right corner.
  • The Knights pulled the goalie with 45 seconds left in regulation and Dylan Florit knotted the game at three with 32 seconds left off a shot that was redirected at the far post. Roos goaltender Filip Schlyter was screened by multiple bodies out in front unable to get a view of the shot.
  • The teams would skate to overtime tied at three.
  • Less than 30 seconds into the extra session Jakobsson had a great chance but Bolda was able to make the save for the Knights. Arcadia quickly skated the other way and Justin Song's shot went bar down for the win for the hosts.
