DuBois Scores Game-High 25 in Road Win at Cazenovia

Cazenovia, NY – Quran DuBois recorded a game-high 25 points as the Roos used a strong first half to earn an 80-75 road win in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos jumped out to an early seven point lead and ended the first half on a 4-0 run to take a commanding 41-31 lead into intermission.
  • Canton extended the lead to as many as 11 five minutes into the second half after a three-pointer from Juztin Chambers-Phillips.
  • The Wildcats would tied the game midway through the second half at 51 apiece but the Roos went on a 13-4 run to extend the lead back to nine after an Andrew Fitch layup with 6:36 remaining.
  • Cazenovia cut the lead to two with 4:14 remaining, but Canto regained a healthy lead and held at least a one possession lead the remainder of the game.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • DuBois led all players with 25 points and added five rebounds and three steals. Danny Santana recorded his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds to go with five assists.
  • Peyton Olsen chipped in nine points and DeMerrill Levy added seven points and seven rebounds.
  • Rashaun Hunter led Cazenovia with 21 points, while Alan Wilmes Jr. (19) and Marcus Shepard (13) also reached double digits in scoring.
  • The Roos outrebounded the Wildcats 47-39.

The men's basketball team returns to NAC play on Saturday when they visit SUNY Poly at 1 p.m.
