Fourteen Roos Score as Saints Shoot Past Men’s Basketball

Canton, NY – St. Lawrence used a strong close to the first half to earn a 76-53 win v. the SUNY Canton men's basketball team in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Play was back-and-forth early on with the Roos holding a 10-9 lead after a Quran DuBois three-pointer 6:47 into the contest. The Saints responded with an 8-2 run capped by a Trent Adamson dunk. The Roos used a 4-0 mini run to get within 17-16 midway through the opening half.
  • St. Lawrence upped its game going on a 26-7 run to open a commanding 43-23 lead at intermission.
  • The hosts kept their foot on the gas pedal in the second half cruising to the victory.  
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Harry Quinlan led the Roos with a career-high nine points in 13 minutes. DuBois added eight points and five rebounds, while Peyton Olsen had six points.
  • Sixteen different players saw action for SUNY Canton with 14 recording at least one point.
  • Andrew Fitch finished with a game-high four blocks. He now jumps into 11th place all-time in NCAA Division III career blocks with 345. Fitch is just one block away from reaching the top 10.
  • Adamson led the Saints with 27 points and eight rebounds. Aiden Macaulay registered 12 points and Will Engelhardt added eight.
  • St. Lawrence shot 52.6% from the field, while Canton hit on just 36.0% of its field goals.
  • The Saints held big edges in points off turnovers (26-7) and points in the paint (48-22).
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The men's basketball returns to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Friday when it visits Cazenovia at 5:30 p.m.
