Castine, ME – Fadil Atcha-Dedji and
Andrew Fitch led a balanced scoring effort with six players scoring seven or more points as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team earned a 67-58 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win at Maine Maritime Academy on Friday evening.
With the win the Roos jump above .500 in conference play at 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team led by more than three points through the first 10 minutes of action. Eight minutes in the Roos used a 7-0 run that included baskets from Peyton Olsen, Atcha-Dedji and Brandon Averitt to open up a 21-14 lead with nine minutes left in the half.
- The Mariners trimmed the lead to one with 3:52 left and the teams headed into intermission tied at 29 apiece.
- The game was close in a back-and-forth affair in the second half. MMA led by one with 5:20 remaining (56-55) but the Roos ran off an 11-0 run to take a 66-56 lead with 22 seconds left and put the game out of reach.
- Fitch had seven points in the spurt including going 5-for-6 from the free throw line.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Atcha-Dedji and Fitch led the way with nine points and eight rebounds apiece with Fitch chipping in three blocks. The nine points were a career-high for Atcha-Dedji. Danny Santana, Justin Omaga and Averitt supplied eight points each with Santana adding six rebounds and five assists.
- Juztin Chambers-Phillips recorded seven points and Quran DuBois and Brennan Harmer tallied four assists each.
- Carter Rubin led the Mariners with a game-high 20 points, while Curt Heinz registered a double-double on 15 points and a game-best 13 rebounds. Cameron Gerlach also scored 10 points and added eight boards.
- The Roos held the edge in rebounds (42-32) and bench points (33-0) as only six players saw action for MMA.
- With his three blocks Andrew Fitch has jumped into 14th place all-time in NCAA Division III career blocks (332).
