Canton, NY – Sophia Harris and
Mackenzie Currie both went a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate in the nightcap as Cazenovia College took a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) softball games from SUNY Canton on Sunday afternoon.
The Roos honored their lone senior,
Shaylyn DeVito, in a pregame ceremony on Senior Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- Cazenovia scored in every inning except the first as they plated four in the second inning, two in the third, one in the fourth and seven in the fifth en route to a 14-0 win in five innings in the opener.
- Lauren Kelleher earned her seventh win of the season throwing a four hitter with three strike outs and one walk in 5.0 innings. Kayla Chavarri took the loss for the Roos surrendering 13 earned runs with seven strike outs and seven walks in 5.0 innings.
- Madison Austin went 2-for-3 for the Roos, while Chavarri had a hit and walk. Harris also finished with one hit for Canton.
- Caitlin Kelleher went 4-for-5 with three doubles, a home run and drove in five runs for the Wildcats. Lauren Kelleher was also 4-for-5 driving in a pair of runs.
GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- The Wildcats got out to a 4-0 lead after their at-bats in the third with two runs each in the first and third innings.
- The Roos brought a pair of their own runs across in the second inning. Currie singled to right center bringing Austin home from second. Jordan Knapp followed with a two out RBI single off the wall in left to bring home Harris.
- Both teams scored one run each in the fifth. Canton received a pair of fifth inning singles from Harris and Currie. After a Chavarri sacrifice moved the runners over to second and third the Wildcats recorded a second out. With two down Hailey Bentley grounded a ball to short. The shortstop tagged Currie out going to third, but Harris used her speed to score just before the tag to get Canton within two.
- Cazenovia added three important insurance runs in the top half of the seventh.
- The Roos got one back in the bottom of the inning when Chavarri scored Harris on a sacrifice fly to left.
- Harris went 4-for-4 from the plate scoring three runs, while Currie was 4-for-4 with an RBI. Angelina LoPiccolo went 2-for-3, while Knapp had a pair of hits and drove in a run.

These two teams are scheduled for a doubleheader on Monday in Canton at 3 p.m. pending the weather forecast.
