Wunder Leads Women’s Lacrosse in Non-Conference Action v. Utica

Canton, NY – Lindsey Wunder scored a team-best two goals as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-3 non-conference contest v. visiting Utica College on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Utica jumped out to an early 3-0 lead behind a pair of goals from Lexi Scaccia. Wunder got the Roos on the board just less than 10 minutes in.
  • From there, the Pioneers ran off seven consecutive scores before Erin Parks put home her 12th goal of the season to make it 10-2. Utica took a 13-2 lead into intermission.
  • Wunder netted her second goal of the game and seventh of the season with just more than seven minutes remaining in the contest.
  • Michaela Conti finished with a game-best three caused turnovers for the Roos, while Parks totaled a game-high four draw controls. Maddy Weir added three draw controls and Wunder picked up two.
  • Madison Leary made five saves in the loss, while Olivia Scott played the final 14:02 in relief.
  • Claire Frier turned aside two shots in the win, while Savanna Thomas and Shaylynn Palmer saw time in relief.
  • Samantha DeCondo led the Pioneers with four goals and one assist, while Scaccia added four of her own scores.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
The women's lacrosse team is next scheduled to close out North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play when it visits Cazenovia College on Monday, April 26th.
