Cazenovia, NY – Casey Pelton and
Samantha Dayter supplied three goals each but the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team closed out its season with a 15-9 road loss at Cazenovia College on Monday.
Cazenovia advances to the NAC Championship game where they will visit Husson University on Saturday. This closes out the 2021 season for the women's lacrosse team.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos got on the board first when Casey Pelton scored her fifth goal of the season off a pass from Erin Parks. The hosts responded with consecutive goals before EllaRose LeMay knotted things once again at two apiece on her sixth marker of the year.
- From there Caz scored seven of the next eight goals to open up a 9-3 advantage early in the second half. The Wildcats led 8-3 at intermission.
- Parks team-leading 13th goal of the season trimmed the deficit to 9-4 six minutes into the second half.
- The hosts rattled off four consecutive goals from there to take a commanding 13-4 lead midway through the second half.
- Canton scored five of the final seven goals of the contest but were unable to mount a comeback.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pelton and Dayter finished with three goals each, while Pelton added two ground balls and Dayter tallied three caused turnovers and a draw control.
- Parks finished with a goal and assist, while LeMay and Karlie McCarthy recorded a goal each. Lindsey Wunder chipped in one assist to go with a team-best three draw controls.
- Sydney Allan paced Cazenovia with six goals, while Callie Andolina added four. Madison Sciera provided a balanced effort with two goals and three assists.
- Madison Leary made eight saves in the loss, while Amanda Drazek finished with 15 saves in the win.
- The Roos held a slim edge in shots on goal (24-23), while forcing the Wildcats into 17 turnovers. Cazenovia held a 15-10 edge in draw controls.
