Potsdam, NY – Five different SUNY Canton players recorded hits on the day but host Clarkson University earned a pair of victories in a doubleheader vs. the softball team on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- Clarkson scored one run in the second and two in the third inning as the Roos remained within striking distance after three innings. The Golden Knights exploded for six runs in the fourth leading to the 9-0 win in five innings.
- Angelina LoPiccolo produced the lone hit for Canton going 1-for-2. Olivia Zoeller, Kayla Robert, Maddie Brin and Amanda Riley all had two hits each for Clarkson, while Robert and Riley drove in two runs each.
- Zoeller threw a one hitter for the Knights striking out eight batters with three walks in five innings.
- Kayla Chavarri took the loss for the Roos surrendering four earned runs with three strike outs and two walks in four innings.
GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- SUNY Canton jumped out to an early lead in the nightcap when Jordan Knapp singled through the left side to score LoPiccolo.
- Clarkson responded with four runs in the bottom of the first and added nine runs in the third frame to secure a 13-2 win.
- Knapp led Canton with one hit and one RBI, while Shaylyn DeVito had a double and Sophia Harris and Alaina Beane finished with singles. LoPiccolo and Alexandria Mikula scored runs for the Roos.
- Brink and Robert led the Knights attack with four hits and 5 RBI, while Sarah Vaccaro also drove in two runs.
- Beane took the loss for the Roos surrendering 11 earned runs with one strike out and two walks.
- Riley Page picked up the win for Clarkson tossing a complete game with four strike outs and did not allow an earned run.

The softball team is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 10th when it visits SUNY Delhi for a doubleheader.
