Peyton Olsen scored in double figures as the Roos trimmed a 20 point second half Potsdam lead to just four but the Bears survived for a 63-53 win on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Visiting Potsdam led 39-19 early on in the second half but Canton responded with a 25-9 run over the next 10 minutes to cut the Bears lead to 48-44 with 9:02 remaining after a Brandon Averitt trifecta.
- The Roos were whistled for a technical foul as Potsdam drained four straight free throws to help break the Canton momentum. The Bears would extend the lead to 12 with 3:38 remaining after. MeSean Johnson fastbreak layup as they held on for the victory.
- Potsdam opened up an early 19-6 lead just over eight minutes into the game. The Bears took a 36-19 lead into intermission. Â

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Santana led Canton with 18 points including 11 in the first half. Olsen supplied 13 points and Averitt finished with eight points. Fadil Atcha-Dedji recorded a team-high 11 rebounds, while Andrew Fitch added nine boards and four blocks.
- Tyrese Baptiste finished with 23 points, 16 rebounds and five steals for Potsdam, while Parker Kelly added 12 points. Johnson came up one point short of a double-double with nine points and 10 boards.
- The Bears scored 21 points off 18 Canton turnovers, while the Roo reserves outscored the Potsdam bench, 26-6.
