Harmer Nets Career-High in Setback v. SUNY Poly

Canton, NY – Brennan Harmer netted a career-high seven points, all of which came in the opening half, but a strong second 20 minutes carried visiting SUNY Poly past the SUNY Canton men's basketball team, 68-52, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos led by four early in what was a back-and-forth opening half. The Roos would take a slim 30-26 advantage into intermission.
  • Brennan Harmer had a strong first half for the Roos leading the team with seven points including hitting a pair of three-pointers. Fitch was a force defensively recording seven first half blocks.
  • The Wildcats chipped away at the deficit early on in the first half tying the game at 32 just less than three minutes in.
  • SUNY Poly used a 20-5 run over the next seven minutes to open up a 52-37 advantage nearly halfway through the second half.
  • The visitors were in control over the final 10 minutes leading by as many as 20 en route to the victory.
 
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Peyton Olsen paced Canton with eight points, while Harmer and DeMerrill Levy added seven points apiece. Andrew Fitch, Danny Santana and Brandon Averitt had six points each.
  • SUNY Poly shot 54.4 % from the field in the game compared to just 34.5 % for the Roos.
  • The Wildcats turned 21 Canton turnovers into 16 points. The Roos held the upper hand in bench points (29-10), while Poly outscored Canton 42-18 in the paint.
